Hi
I have an acro stag that I noticed the other day , the polyps were not extended at all. At a closer look it almost appeared as if the coral was hollow. In other words, the coralites looked completely empty ( no polyps ). After 2 days it is beginning to turn white. All other sps corals in the tank look normal. My params:
sg - 1.025
NO3 - undetectable
PO4 - undetectable
Cal. 420ppm
Alk - 8dkh
temp: 80F
I do have one suspect though, about 3 weeks ago I added a Copperband butterfly to the tank to rid an aptasia problem. The Copperband ate every aptasia in the tank within 2 weeks, completely aptaisa free...but I have never seen the Copperband eat any food I feed to the fish.....so, Im wondering if the COpperband has been feasting on that sps coral...could a Copperband eat, or suck, the polyps right out of the calcium carbonate structure of the sps?
