heres my best uneducated recollection...colors of corals are not really the coral? its photosysthic algae that it hosts? the algae takes light, does the photosysthisis thing, sugar its its byproduct and thats what the corals feed on. its a symbotic relationship. i dont know this is like twenty years ago in 7th grade natural science class? anyway, by that thoery, heathlier tank more dense population of colorful zooalage? of course i could have just made that all up (just like star trek)
