i often see some lovely examples but they are always at a huge cost , does anyone have any reasonable supplier tips ? id love to build up my tank a little more

You can get a frag from fellow reefers or get a browned frag from a LFS.

Local Reefers are your best bet. Try to find the website for the reef club in your area and check their sale forums.

Surely there is a local reef club within an hour of you. Where are you from? Local forums is always the best way to get cheap corals.

As said above local reefers are your best bet or you can try to buy from the FS section when good deals pop up.
