SPS Touching Question

I have a quick question for anyone who may like to take the time to answer it. Some time during the few days that I was away from home during the beginning of this week some one in my tank (I think my large turbo) decided he wanted to knock one of my milli frags into another one. Lets just say that they didn't like this too much. They both got burned pretty bad, and had some kind of slime covering the contact points. When I got home I moved them back to their original positions and have been watching them to make sure everything it ok (that is for the rest of the frags.

My question is this is is likely that the affected area will stay contained at the point of contact, or will it continue to spread to the rest of the frag?

If the burn continues to advance what is the best method of fraging off these portion of the coral, I have never cut SPS so I am kinda asking what the best tool to use is I guess.

Thanks for the help.

It is unsure whether it will cause additional stress and spread.
IME, it usually stops right there.
Just give adequate flow to the areas and in a few weeks it should be fine.

Ok I just wanted to update this issue and ask for some more advice. This time I decided to provide picture to show the affected frags.

Here is the Acropora sp. that was involved. Though it was burn the affected area does not appear to be spreading so I am not really worried about this one.

Now here is my M. digitata on the day that I found the two had been knocked into each other followed but pictures documenting day 2 and day 3.

It appears that if the spread of the affected area doens't stop it will soon more off of this branch to other branched killing them with it.

Should I continue to just wait and see what happens of should I do something. I really don't want to lose the entire frag.

If you recommend to take the branch off what tool should I use.

Frag the healty branch before it spreads. This on seem to have taken the worst of it. From my experience branching montis are brittle you should be able to snap it off with your fingers.

You can also use super glue gel to stop the spread of the tissue loss. Just put it on the healthy tissue right before the white area.

Well I followed Wazzel's advice, and just snapped off the branch that was damaged. It has been 2 days now and it appears that this solved the problem. The damage is no longer spreading.
