SPS trouble HELP

I've had a beautiful purple tipped acro doing well in my tank for about 2 weeks. I moved it up on the rock 2 days ago to a permanant home and I came home this morning and 5 of the tips are completely white dead. What should I do? Move it back down and try to clip the dead spots? Please HELP.

I would also cut a little past the part where the tissue is gone to try and make sure it doesn't get worse.

Any suggestions on what to use to cut? I don't have any fragging tools
