I recently bought 2 acros from a retailer who I won't name. After a few days in my tank, I found that one had a parasitic brown crab who was eating polyps. I finally removed him and the colony is now doing great w/ great PE. When I purchased the other acro I noticed that it had no PE, but like an idiot I bought it anyway. Well 2 weeks later and still no PE. Upon closer inspection I've found that every single polpy is gone, there are none, so I suppose that they have been eaten out while at the store. The acro still has color, but it is starting to fade. Can corals regrow polpys or do I need to discard of the acro?
