SPS wont color up

Yea its growing although not very fast but it does grow. If you mean the SPS, yes I do have growth there also Pretty decent PE also

Well your pics are kind of blurry but your sps seem to have pretty decent color. Are you dosing MB7 along with the vodka? If not you really need to. I agree Tomini tangs are beasts when it comes to algae so are yellow eyed tangs. You could always take the yellow tang in to the LFS as a trade towards another tang. You will need to do some major manual removal of the hair algae. Get a tooth brush and scrub the algae off as much as you can, do a good water change after clean up also. Are you running any GFO in a reactor? If not this will help to remove more PO4 before the algae has a chance to use it up. Skimming wet may help some to.

I have GFO in a high flow area, but I dont run a reactor due to a lack of room. I dont dose MB7, no.. I cant scrub the rocks clean, thats part of the problem. The stuff is very resilient. I take a very hard brush that I bought from Bed Bath & Beyond to it, and I need to scrub back and forth a LOT and HARD to remove any of it. Only way to really remove is gripping and pulling, but its hard when its short :/

An urchin will also do wonders on any algae in the tank.

I have an Urchin that doesnt really eat that algae. He does a BIT, but not nearly enough to make a difference.. Maybe I should load up on them lol

good stuff on the pumps. that will get the water going.
ive delt with that algae in the past. i had to get a good hard bristled scrub from a hardware store and go at it. then get a bunch of snails and for sure your tank can handle another tang with all the rock movement they wount be as teritorial. i've noticed that once you can shorten the algae the snails, crabs, urchins, and tangs can better control the diatoms. id test phos and run it through a reactor. +1 on water change and wet skimming. i tank Imo can have a little algae, its just needs to be controlled. its gunna be a pain, but worth it. good luck. nice tank by the way. oh, did you have snails or anything in the tank for algae before the bloom or did you add them after?

Everyone says stability is key, and I think my parameters for the most part stay very stable, but my corals arent coloring up. What should I be looking at for a cause?

Maybe is just a matter of time

Just stability and parameters is not enough

There is something that I can´t explain, but it´s is normal a new reef with everything ok but all the corals are brown and after a couple of months, like magic the coral become colorful
