spying on fish

Alright guys, I like to spy on my fish at night just to see who is sleeping where or with who and maybe if anyone is doing the deed.

I place this in the breeding section because I'm talking about my breeding tank. I don't want to spook the fish but I do like to look inside to see what they are up too. Is there some type of flashlight or something like that, that I can use that will not upset them in anyway?

Red is commonly used because some critters cant pick it up. Also a IR night vision surveillance camera can be had pretty cheap. It all depends on the level of spy your looking to attain.

^ what he said, I also use a security cam with IR, they do work great you just have to angle it to where the IR does not reflect back at your camera or you wont see anything.

also they sell IR flashlights for cheap, around $5. ( they are used for spotting scorpions in the southwest but can get online at home depot, ect. ) I use one and works great.

It is also neat to see the different corals in IR
