Hello all,
I bought a 5" blue squamosa about 3 weeks ago. I put it on the sand bed off center from a radion G2 running at 75%. I just went to look at the tank and the clam had a ton of slime coming from near the byssal area. It will not open fully but is still very responsive. I sucked out the slime that I could with a turkey baster. Parameters are as follows:
Nitrates 20
Calcium 420
Alk 10
Phosphate 0.1
Salinity 1.025
Temp 78F
Mag 1320
I have the clam in with a trio of flasher wrasses, a red headed jawfish, yellow assessor, and a bonded pair of purple firefish. I have blood red, skunk, and bruuns cleaner shrimp. Not sure if any of these would touch it. I don't think they would. None of my scavengers are around acting like the clam is going downhill. Why would my clam slime like this?
