SRO (Super Reef Octopus) 3000 Microbubble Probs!

I keep the same skimmer where the water level is a 1/4 below the outlet. Have had no problems so far. Also, I don't think its epoxy. If your tank is big enough for a sro 3000 four frags shouldn't do this. I've put multiple frags at a time numerous times without issue.

I have this skimmer and has multiple times put over 70gallons on my floor. I won't get into how it passed my fail safe but I did want to mention that the skimmer loves to be around 6.5-7" of water. Use a PVC t in the gate to direct the water quietly back to the sump. I also use a skimmer wiper that helps keep things smoothly.

How does putting a T on it put any less back pressure?

It doesn't. Taking it out of the water more does. The pump is powerful and should have a bigger air injector. When u take it out of the water further it makes the pump have higher head pressure to maintain that constant water level. The t is put in because the manufacture put the outlet high and creates a lot of splashing when raised out of the water.

I use a t turned on its horizontal plane with a 90 or 45 with pipe to direct flow around my sump. U can't use only one 90. It will creat to much back pressure. With the multiple outlets its not so turbulent and I use the outlets to keep detritus out and off the bottom of my sump.

I had a similar issue, just let the skimmer run and after a day or so it will settle down. Also you might want to consider a small filter sock on the skimmers output to eliminate the micro bubbles.
