Heya Ecotech, I have a question about the ESL site. Are the passwords encrypted or sent via cleartext? I just noticed that there is no Https:// in front of the beta.ecosmartlive.com.

All sensitive user information is encrypted both in transmission and in backend storage.

What about when we log into our accounts via the website? My concern is that someone can sniff the packets and find our passwords when we type in our user/pw. This is typically handled with SSL on the websites.

Sorry not trying to be a jerk, I am just concerned, it's a nightmare of mine that a script kiddy gets my password as it is transmitted in clear text and then cranks my lights up to 100% intensity and fries my tank.

Correct any data sent from a non-secure website to a remote location could be sniffed over a network. It would be best practice to secure this. Now, I don't personally have the product but if the form transaction is sent to a secure URL from a non-secure page, the risk is very minimal at best.
