stand building and sump size questions

Anyone know what the min/max range for a sump on a 75 gal tank? I just started to build the stand for my first ever reef tank and I'm at a critical point where I need to decide the door opening size, so that I can make sure I'll be able to get the sump in once it's built. I was planning on a 39 wide by 20 tall opening for the door. The interior dimensions will be 40 wide by 18 deep and 27 tall.

I'm using a standard 30 gallon aquarium as a sump for my 75g. It's 17"high and 36" wide. As a general rule I would make the opening as large as you can.
