Stand for my tank (Earthquake Concerns)

I have this really nice desk with a 3'x4' flat top and it has 2 holes already drilled in it that was for computer wires. I was thinking on using this for my 72 bowfront drilled on the bottom of the tank overflow. my concern is if there is a good size shaker and my tank will have room to slide around and the bulkheads will shear off and splash everywhere.
I'm a DIY guy, so i was thinking of building a 2-1/2'' frame around outside bottom the tank, screwed to the top of the desk so if there is a shaker there will be no movement of the tank only alot of splashing out and i would rather deal with that than 72 gal on the floor. my sump would go under where you normally slide a chair to and it will be on a slide out shelf that will hold my 20gal sump.
( it will be bulit to hold the extra weight.)

can you think of any problems that i might have?

Will the desk strong enough to support a 75G aquarium? Most computer desk are not that strong.

BTW, the doc is corrupted. Can't open.

mines on a computer desk. but the desk is made of oak. not the plywood stuff. Gotta be careful with desk made of compressed wood because they soak water and warp.

isn't 75 gallons of water plus the weight of the rocks heavy enough to hold down a tank? I dont think the tank it would slide around the desk.

this desk is made of Oak, so it's strong enough to support the tank, i just want the frame as added protection.
