stand questions

i know i asked this before, but i never really got a response. My stand has 2 completely different types of woods and can not be stained. I think i am forced to paint it, but what color? White, Black, Blue, ect.? Is there a reason for one color over the other.
The way i look at it is that white shows dirt, and black shows salt. Im stuck

Both wipe off. Pick a color and just paint it, color means nothing exept personal preferance

I'd go black, just because I like it better. I have damp towels to clean any color.

Do you have problems picking out cars? Sorry I did't notice that you were in a local forum, I shouldn't have commented.

It's a personal preference. Depends on what the colors are in the room where the tank is going to be located. If I had to paint it, I would go for a nice gloss black. One of my stands has the exterior stained and the interior is painted white. Makes it look nice and clean, plus it reflects light and makes it a little easier to see inside of the stand.

I painted my stand black with an undercoat of white. I then took some sand paper and lightly sanded the edges - revealing the white underneath. It gives the stand a nice aged look. A damp towel wipes off the salt with no problems.

What kinds of wood? If it's a nice oak or maple, you could stain that and then paint the rest black or white.

In your last thread you never said what type of wood you have usedb( I don't think). I use Oak and Pine Trim on my stands and they come out just fine. What type of wood and where is each of those woods at?

while you are talking about staining to different types of wood. I had a heck of a time on my new stand finding the Oak Piece I needed. I almost used a Birch piece instead, but was afraid of the stain not looking the same. In the boards the Birch seemed to have more grain markings in it, but same color wood. Anyone know how these two match.
