star polys

hey guys, i just acquired new star polys about two weeks ago. Everything was working normal. Opening during the day and closing at night. Tonight my lights have been off for maybe 6-7 hours and my star polys are still out and not retracted. Is this good or bad?-thanks

I'm not an expert so I could be wrong but my GSP have stayed out for hours after the light has gone off and mine are doing better and better each day. So I'd say its fine.

I frag and sell the things.

Some of my patches stay open all night while others close. Typically the more light they get during the day the faster they'll close at night. Frags at the bottom of my tank tend to stay open the longest.

Hi Goldframe44,

I agree with the others, they are doing OK some will do this and others won't, but seem to be Ok and happy.

Hi Tate1,

I've been in this hobby for close to 18 years more or less, yet sometimes a mistake will happen or something will go wrong no matter how much you know about the hobby of reef keeping. The main thing is try to keep focus in your knowledge and don't get mislead by different hobbist or LFS were one will say; "I do this this way" and the other one will say something different and on and on, although always keeping in mine there is new approaches to the hobby which are always developing from time to time.

Love GSP! Keep doing what you do! and i concur with enasco. I have 1 year experience and all the old time reefers tell me the same business "Nothing works the same for 2 different people in 2 different tanks"
