so is there such a thing, could you just use a piece of acrylic with a scuffed surface? Just trying to suffice paying what starboard does and it's just for protection, when you could buy acrylic for next to nothing at HD and just slap it in there. Please chime in if I'm wrong. Also to people who use a "starboard" base, do you silicone the edges so all the gunk doesnt get underneath, or doesnt that really matter? Thanks all.
