I have a 40 gallon breeder tank. Ammonia 0 nitrites 0 nitrates just above 0. Salinity 1.025 .I have had this chocolate chip starfish for over two months and the owner before me had him for a year. I came home from work yesterday and he had all these white colored lesions all over his body. And it's a little worse today. I have no idea what this can be. Can it turn around and get better? Should I remove him? I don't have a quarantine tank.

Like deputy said, chocolate chip starfish need to be in a mature tank with enough to eat to survive. I had one for a couple years and I would let my back glass and one side get covered with algae so it always had enough to eat

Except chocolate chip starfish are mostly carnivore.

I bought my tank online already established the guy had the tank running for over a year with the starfish and I transported it to my house. I have personally had it for 2 months. I feed him chunks of clam 2 times a week. I took him to my LFS cause I don't have a quarantine tank and they said it could be a bacteria infection. They are quarantining him for me. Thanks.

How old is your tank? Chocolate chip starfish need pristine water and a mature tank so that they have enough to eat.
