Starfish mounting each other??

I've had 3 of these in my tank for about 6 months now and this is new activity. Is this a mating ritual or just starfish play?

I looked for you on google and stuff then went to wiki.

But, it does look like a manage'a trois!

Yeah there is only two in that pic, but three stacked would be a picture.

I didn't see any mention of pseudocopulation in the wiki article. Often 1 individual will lie on top of another for days or even weeks. Sometimes in response to chemosensory signals linked to spawning and sometimes....well, maybe it just feels good!
