Hello,

My name is Tommy and I have a 180 gallon sps tank with all pvc plumbing. I've been battle with Majano for the pass two years and it lead me to the point, to break down the tank and start fresh again. I will replace all rocks, sand etc and will scrub down the tank and sump. Please give me advices or point me the right direction on how I could get rid of them pests for good. Any advices will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Tommy

If your replacing all rocks are you starting off with base rock or live rocks? They're just hitch hiker so best way to not get them is QT your corals or rocks before you put in display.

You could start with dry reef rock and dry sand. This will guarantee you won't get any hitchhikers from the beginning.

When you buy your coral, QT it for a little bit. Check to make sure there isn't any majano or aiptasia in the tank or system you're buying it from. Use a coral dip. None of these will guarantee that you'll NEVER get it, but it will help.

Couldnt you just cook the rock you have? I imagine that is cheaper than just buying all new rock which could also have aptasia on it.

Thank you everyone for giving me directions. After months of thinking, my plans was to shut down the display tank then clean it includes all equipments and sump. I have 120 lbs of fresh dry base rocks and also 20 lbs of live rocks which I placed all in a large container with fresh saltwater to cure and seed for a month or maybe two. I have 120 pounds of fresh dry sand in another container with rodi water to soap. All of my sps corals and fishes will QT in a 40 gallons breeder tank. During the pass weeks to months of processing, I will dip all of my corals weekly to make sure there will be no pests when I introduce in the new system. Majano have destroy my beautiful tank, and I'm tired of it. I want to make extra sure down the line I will not see them pop up again. When clean the tank, sump, equipment, how about all of my pvc pipe that plumb into the sump? Will there be any chance of a majano? Please let me know if I'm in a right direction? And again from my warmest heart, I'm greatly appreciated any input.
