Start moving fish over into new tank?

I have been cycling a new tank. I have live sand and pukani rock that was curing for 6 weeks in heated saltwater. I did pull the rock out for about two days as I was aquascaping but it was still quite wet inside and I figure had lots of bacteria still.

The new tank has been running for about a week and I have been dropping a cube of food in it. I have zero ammonia and nitrites. Is there any good reason to not put a fish in? I am thinking to introduce them slowly maybe one a week but if the tank can handle a cube of food with no sign of ammonia I think I am good. Any thoughts?

A week may not be long enough to produce ammonia. If you want a quick answer to the question dose the tank with enough pure ammonia to raise the ammonia level up to 2 ppm. If the tank is cycled the ammonia should drop back to zero in 12 hours. Be sure to use pure ammonia without surfactants or perfumes, Ace Hardware caries it.

I had live rock from a tear down I kept wet in a 100gal. I had 0 ammonia and nitrites but i was not cycled. At week 2 dyno showed up. Week 4 I added the cuc. As I have been told when you move the rock you will have a cycle. They were right.
