We went to a place here in Rochester called The Reef Shoppe and talked to the people there. It is a really cool place with tons of animals, beautiful tanks and room after room of stuff.

Anyway, we ended up getting a new sump, LED lighting, a protein skimmer and some rock. Very fun and I think it looks great. We set it all up and it seems to be working great. We'll let it run for 2 weeks and then go back to see about creatures. This place even lets you bring buckets and get their RO water for free! Very nice!

We feel a lot more secure about this set up.

Its likely going to take more than 2 weeks to properly cycle that tank as you have dry rock..
Expect 4 weeks min..

Thanks mcguvr! Yes, it kinda does, but it actually has some stuff on it. We thought about getting TBS rock, but it was fun to pick out the exact rocks we wanted. Plus these people set up and maintain tanks all over the area. They just did a 1000 gallon one. So we thought they were good people to establish a relationship with. Their shop is really amazing.
