Starting 130 build thread. IT FITS!

In the 1990's I had a 65 and a 150. Standard dimensions. Life happened and I broke down the 65 when I moved, gave my pair of Ocellaris to a friend who successfully reared their fry back when nearly no one was able to. Then more life - joyous four footed kind - took more and more time so I sold the 150 to a dentist. Now it is time again. Just a few more weeks until the tank gets here and I put it all together.

My huge challenge has been to find a way to fit the gear I wanted underneath the tank in the stand. I live in a condo and there is no fish room, no basement, no room for error or a leak and so on. Electrician coming to wire 2 GFI circuits with quad boxes next week.

Tank = 48" x 24" x 27" h. Stand interior dimensions 46 x 22".

Here's a photo of the pieces, unplumbed without the sump (hasn't arrived yet.)

So you can see starting in the middle - well you have to turn your head but you get the idea.

12 o clock - empty area for refugium and on left return chamber.
2:00 - Vertex Omega 150 skimmer
4.00 - 5G container for ATO with Cobalt 400 pump
6:00 - 2 @ Vertex 1.5 liter universal reactors (carbon, GFO)
7:00 - Eheim Compact+ 2000 for reactors
8:00 - CO2 cylinder
9:00 - GEO 612 CA reactor
10:00 - RLSS Waveline 6000 return pump
At the center - Cobalt 1200 for GEO 612 hidden behind one of the reactors.

IT FITS now for the plumbing which I don't think I will do until the tank and stand are in place.

I just decided if I was going to do this again I wanted to do it as well as I possibly could and damn the torpedoes (well, drain on the bank account).

Aquarium has been built. You can see the depth. 27" I wanted this as I will use a DSB - I know there's some debate about DSB's but from what I have read one can have a very very long lived tank this way. So giving it a whirl.

Personally, I find DSB makes for an unattractive reef, but that's just me. Also, as some claim if you disturb that DSB your could nuke your tank.

Regardless, nice looking rimless!

No digging gobies for me that's for sure. Esthetics are of course a matter of taste. Find looking through the glass and seeing beneath the surface quite interesting even if it's not beautiful.
