Hi im Just starting a 180 reef tank need some advice, My tank is going to be in the living room due to the all the noise concerns i am building a Cabinet in the garage to hold all the equipment, the garage is about 40 ft. from the tank, I was thinking 1 2" drain and 1 1-1/2 return. I really want to do a closed loop but i dont want all the plumbing going back and forth from the garage and since it is going to be viewable from 3 sides I am thinking Power heads . what do you guys suggest. I saw this Max Powerhead at the lfs that the top sticks out of the water so there is no additional heat in the tank. Im thinking of putting them on 3 corners would i have enough flow for Sps with them are they any good. or should i just drill holes in the bottom and just do the closed loop with pvc in the tank and cover it with rocks and go inside the canopy for the top flow? I really dont know what to do. Any Suggestions?
