am a newbie here. was on swf for years. now that thats said im looking for some advise on building this tank. was up and running ok for 4 years. my 4 yearold wanted to feed the fish and dumped 3lbs of flake in ruined everything. lost 2k worth of livestock oin 1 hour. could never get the water right again. i moved a year ago and now im itching to get this tank running again. my corals lilved ok. little growth but never florished. so heres what i have and could you tell me if its ok. mot ok. or upgrade. please!
300 gal 10x2x2 with a 180 glass as a sump/refug. 2 400 watt mh with the chrome reflectors. 20K (i ran 14's but was ugly). had 5 or 6 korilla powerheads. 4 1" pvc drains from the back of tank running down to sump. percision marine skimmmer bullet 1 i think. lots and lots of liven rock in dt and sump. macro algea in sump. little giant return pump. i have a vortex? t3 as well but havent used. have rodi auto top off and 60 gal bucket auto water making system? never ran a reactor. do i need? and im buying a controller. any used ones for sale? and which is the best? neptune or reefkeepers? thanks for any help.
