Starting Over

Started the tank over after getting ick on a fish or two and moved them over to QT. Tank was fish less for two months- redid the rock work and replaced the sand bed. Cycled the rock for a month or so and cleaned them off pretty good prior to putting them in the main tank. Main tank parameters are doing well and am wondering at what point to go ahead and add fish back in main tank?

I'm sure the main tank will go through some kind of cycle again but hope it will be minimal.. trying to avoid putting the fish through that if possible I guess..

Could stretch out the time for putting the fish back in, maybe a few at a time vs all at once. Regardless you will probably still get a small cycle.

Thanks! I'm going to try and add a bit more rock higher up if possible. I'm letting it sit as I already have a bit of ammonia (I'm guessing from the rock) even through I cycled that for a little over a month.. when ammonia reduces I'll add the fish and start getting it back in order.

Any one use UV sterilizers? There's so much opinion out there which makes purchasing equipment tough. I'm currently experiencing a green bacterial bloom. Running GFO, charcoal and doing a water change today. Parameters are doing well.. I'm guessing rocks are leaching as the sand bed is new and water comes off RO/DI into barrels and TDS is around 3-5ppm.
