well im building me a new house and i'm planning on doing dual 250 gallon tanks in the wall with a 125 Gallon refuge, and a 100 gallon rubbermaid tub for frags and some misc things.....

would it be as effective to run both tanks into the refugium or should i have two completely different setups?

one tank is going to be strictly for eels and the other tank is going to be strictly a FOWLR tank until i decide to change it down the road....

What will the distance be between the display tanks and the sumps?

roughly ten feet. and i'm thinking that since i can get these pumps for free and an extra tank for free, im going to just run two seperate systems..

Well
Its also two skimmers. That size gets expenisive!! It would also be easier to maintain water quality. "But to each their own" The reason I ask about the distance is because you will need to think about pipe size. The longer the distance the bigger the pipe to your sump. I think one complete system would just be easier to maintain.

I'm in the process of planning my upgrade and my sump room will be 35' away from my display tank. I'm running with 1.5" pipe to the sump and 1" pipe for the return. I haven't picked out a pump yet but it will have a high head ability.
