Stealth Heaters

I have yet to have a problem with the 4 that I own. I just replaced a Hydor with a stealth due to the hydor not even being close to the right temperature. The tank was at 84 the Hydor was set at 75. Way too inconsistent for me. Put the stealth in and all is well. I run several of them on my 210 as well and they are rock solid.

yes.... I am currently using the 250 watt stealth heater in my tank and it very acurate and keep a constent temp in my 55 gallon tank, I have it set for 78 degrees and my digital thermometer reads 78.5 degrees.

Mine went junk on me, it was a 250 watt. Basically just stopped working, found my tank well below temp. They have no power indicator light and that is downright dangerous in my eyes.

Agreed. I have a stealth 250w and am going to add another one to help it keep up in my 90. Happy so far. I like how it turns off when its removed from water. Great safety feature.

They are my favorite heater. I have found them to be very accurate, and I like the fact that they are plastic and automatically shut off if taken out of water.

I will take the lack of indicator light for a heater that actually controls accurately. I keep mine in the sumps so I never see the light anyway. I go by the thermometer on the tank or what my AC 3 tells me it is. Depending on who's tanking I am looking at.

Every heater can fail. Don't look for an indicator light look at the thermometer. The tank temp should not have fallen drastically low in 1 day. I am guessing you took the little things like temp for granted. Electronic scan and will fail at the most inopportune of times, there are ways of preventing catastrophe's by always running a backup heater. Heater failure is a common problem and many people run an extra one with it set slightly lower in the event that a heater does fail.
