steel stand painting

If you can find some place to do it powder coating it would be the best option. Powder coating is baked on enamel finish used for many different applications, like automobile parts, lawn furniture, boat parts, bike parts, ....

I used a rust primer inhibitor that I bought in a boat store. you can go into HD and get the rust paint cheaper just do a couple of coats

I to am gonna be building a metal stand, what about a couple of coats of krylon or killz, would that work good.

It'll work until it gets scratched, which will happen pretty easily. The powder coating is the best option.

It doesn't scratch that easy unless you have a sharp metal object and intent on making a mark...I painted my stand using krylon primer and then paint for my 180 stand and it's doing fine and been up for a year.

I just got the friend of a friend deal to get it powder coated. I am getting the the whole thing built and powdercoated for less than $200

no one in my area does poweder coating, so paint is my only option. It would cost to much to send my stand off and have it powder coated, primer and a couple of coats krylon is gonna have to work for me.
