I really hate to have to post this. I have had virtually nothing but positive experiences in all my years here on RC. I have bought and sold tons of stuff with fellow hobbiests, and have many many wonderful transactions.
Unfortunately, my transaction with Hellraser30(steve dube) was NOT one of these.
Back on August 2, I bought a used Ampmaster pump from him, and paid via Paypal.
He sent it in a cardboard box, no peanuts, unwrapped, totally unprotected in any way. Needless to say, it arrived damaged. The whold front end (the black plastic part) was shattered in a number of places.
When I confronted him with the problem, he said I should file a claim with USPS. WHen I tried to do so, I was notified that I needed to provide proof of insurance.
Well, you guessed it, he seems to have "lost" his paperwork from the shipment.
I feel like he totally screwed me. I even offered to split the cost with him, assuming it to be an honest mistake on his part, but he won't even respond.
Sorry for venting here in this public forum. I just thought I'd alert other potential buyers (assuming he still has other equipment to sell) to this problem.
