and my little girl was the one who named him...

on a side note:

our blue chromis is also named Steve, the hopefully soon to be female clown is called Nemo, and the little hopefully soon to be boy clown is called...you ready for this....you guessed it...

Fish Soup... yeah she likes her little bear cartoon too much..

Steve is our neighbour...LOL

OKAY now this little crab has ot been out and about in a while...

DO THEY MOLT?

or was the shell i found that last remains of him?

What you found was probably the remains of him. Horseshoe crabs really arent very well suited for a reef tank. They require alot of sand bed for grazing, they eat sand bed infauna, and may eat meaty foods, but usually they end up starving. Most of them are temperate. They also get large, up to 2 feet.

They are however very cool and one of my favorite invertebrates. Did you know they have blue blood?

*agree with graveyardworm*

And adding that your tank was to small for it. They work better with a LARGE ray tank or something big, def. not a nano ;x. mistakes happen, im sure the pet store doesnt realize how big they get when they sell them, well or just dont care.

I would say the latter, as long as people keep buying the stores will keep selling. I fell into the same trap, new to the hobby realtively uninformed and horseshoe crabs are really cool. So the first one I saw I bought, it lived for maybe 4 or 5 months, in that time I found out what they were all about and now stay away from them except at the beach.
