Roger
I have had a tunze 6100 with an intermittent alarm for some weeks. I never could figure it out as I have 4 on my tank plus the wavebox and by the time I would get to the drivers to unplug the alarm would stop.
Yesterday I was close enough to the tank that when it went off I just to it and pulled the pump. I have given it a good cleaning with vinegar and had all parts disassembled and reassembled right down to the lower orange o ring. I threw it in a bucket of water and let it run for awhile. It ran fine for 20 -30 minutes but then an alarm. I put the pump in without the cowl covering and it appears the propeller is freezing to cause the alarm.
Its the older style prop with all the parts, it does seem like the brakes are very loose. Do you think its braking itself at points?
Is there anything for me to try before shipping you the pump? If not do I need an RMA( returned merchandise authorization)? Can you reply with address for shipping too?
Thanks
Gary
