hey i have a 55 set up and its been up and running for a good 7 months i have a longhorn cowfish in ther right now that has been doing good for the past 3 weeks .........i want to put and ghost eel in the tank and a puffer ......... will this be ok or not....\\

the cowfish is 7 in big

the cowfish secretes a toixin that can kill every fish in the world including itself...in order to put in more fish the cowfish must be gone otherwise you put your entire stock and tank at risk of a cowfish poison attack

My opinion... if you have a 55g tank, you are stocked to the max with the cowfish or at least for a full grown one.

You put anything else in there in such a small tank you're likely going to see aggression, death, and thus... the toxins.

Any one of those critters will max out such a small tank SOLO.

If it were me, i wouldn't attempt a cowfish in anything other than a couple hundred plus gallons.

the only way the cowfish will release its toxins are if it dies, is stressed to the extreme, or is picked on a lot. and even when they die it is not GURANTEED to release the toxin, and some cowfish toxins are less volatile than others..im sure youll get more replies, i have no experience with them but that is just what i have read..hope i helped..
