Stock list for a 180G

did you ever get your stock list picked out?

I think selecting anthias is the HARDEST thing ever to do. I'm doing a reef the same dimensions (48x30x24) and can't decide on anthias. i know i want schoals of about 10 of them.

What did you decide on? i like them all! lyretail, sunburst/fathead, Ignitus, bartlett

For whatever it's worth I also have a 180 and here is my fish list:
(1) Blonde Naso
(1) Flame Fin Tang
(1) Powder Blue Tang
(1) Percula Clown
(1) Copperband Butterfly
(1) Engineer Goby
(1) Survivor Blue Green Chromis
(1) Bi Color Blenny

Just starting to add corals....

cool list. how do you like the tomini tang? how do the three tangs get along? do you think a powder blue, purple, and tomini would get along in a 48" long x 36" wide 180gal?

That list looks very cool. I basically had a tank crash and I really like your idea. I might do about the same thing to a smaller scale since my tank is 125g. Prob skip the wrasses since they're known jumpers

Either way good luck with it. List looks good.

I have yet to get the actual system set up. Its a work in progress though i expect things to start moving pretty fast in the next couple of weeks. I think ten would be pushing the limit if you have other fish in the tank. 5 to 7 would be a good number IMO. I'm still deciding between the Ignitus and Lyretails. I would opt for the Lyretails but their max size and supposedly mean temperament is making me lean towards the Ignitus. I want to avoid any aggression issues if possible.

Interesting list u have there. How large are your Tangs? That Blond Naso will definitely outgrow a 180G in due time. Is there any aggression between them?

Thanks t5Nitro. Might switch out a few of the fish as i go along but i think the list is pretty much done. Just have to decide which anthias and wrasses i want to add. The wrasses rep for jumping is the main reason i have yet to own one to date but i plan to put one of those wire mesh screens on top of my new tank so fingers crossed, they will stay in the tank.
