Hey everyone!
I wanted to get ur opinion on my stock list! I think this may be to much though. I have a 75 gallon saltwater fish tank with all different types of coral, one cleaner shrimp, around 85lbs of live rock, and a yellow coris wrasse, a lawnmower blenny, and a flagfin angel. I am soooo luckey because my flagfin hasn't touched my coral or anything and on top of that he eats like a pig!!!!
My tank has been up and running for 7 months now. so here is my fish list! I think it might be to much though so....
:fish1:
I all ready have the first three!:fish1:
1. Yellow coris wrasse
2. Lawn mower blenny
3. Flag fin angelfish
4. royal gramma
5. 5 blue green chromis
6. black occelaris clownfish pair
7. kole tang
8. red fire fish pair
:D:fish1:
So thats basically what I want but just wanted to go through you guys first.
thank to everyone for ur time!

yeah I wasnt sure about that but my lfs told me that he would fine. Also in the book I have Marine Fishes it says 75 gallon would be minimum tank size. But I really dont want to get rid of!! Any other comments on that?

Yeah, that Flagfin does get a little big for a 4 footer. But barring the size issue, they are REALLY hard to keep alive.

I have tried 3 over the course of 20 years. I went 9 months with a 4 inch specimen as my best "attempt". I thought I had it over the hump, but nope. Unexplained death. Beautiful fish though.

I have never had luck with a group of chromis, even in my 180 they kill each other until you have a pair. The clowns and firefish would be OK but the gramma may pick on the firefish and I wouldn't put any tang in there. As far as the angel goes that tank is really at the smallest end of acceptable tank size and the species is touchy so keeping good water quality will be key.

Wow That is SO COOL i'm only 13 years old and Ive only been in the hobby for 1 year 2 months!!!!!!! HE IS A PIG. he'll eat anything he was like that when I bought him! After I acclimated him and put him in he didnt hide and was swimming around like he had been in there his whole life!!! And just as an experiment to see what would happen I put some food in for them and what do you know he ate!!!

Now I have to talk my parents into leting me buy a bigger tank..... and find the money to do it. lol What size would be appropiate for him?

At what time would I have to be concerned like how many inches? he's about 4in rite now.

Thanks Andrew

I'd say a 125, I'm glad you have found success in keeping a flagfin.

+1 The bigger the better as far as tank size goes but this should be fine for a flagfin. They can get as large as 10 inches but rarely get much past 6 or 7. This is a touchy fish and it sounds like you found a strong one, once they settle in and eat they are golden, just keep up the water quality. My last flag sounded exactly like yours, ate from my fingers two hours after being put in the tank and had the most personality of any fish I have ever kept. I was about your age when I started with marine fish, you should be proud to have success with this difficult fish.

As far as getting your parents to go along with a bigger tank I always appreciated it that when my kids came to me with a request to have something they would have a plan in place to pay for it. I never registered much objection when my kids wanted stuff as long as they were willing to shell out their own money for it (tattoos and piercings excluded).

Thanks so much that means a lot. Do you know when I will have to start worrying about this and do something about it?(flagfin)

Thats so cool! I think your stock list is a lot more resonable than mine for this size tank from what I've heard!:spin3:
