Current tank specs are below in my sig...
Summary...
We are currently under sales contract for our "œold" home where my current tank is still up and running. I was waiting as long as possible through this process, as many of you know takes 30-45days to "œclose". We just had the final home inspection and buyers are happy, so ITS A GO! We are about half way through the sale and plan to close on August 17th. My fiancé and I have already moved into our new home as of 3wks ago. Luckily for me the "œold" house in route to my job, no extra trips to feed. This is an in wall tank and will NOT be used at our new house. But, the kicker is, my new tank will NOT be ready and has been pushed back until mid September now.
This whole process was originally planned to have the new tank setup and ready and not have to have a temporary setup running. Now being pushed back that throws me a major wrench. Why? Because I was hoping to just bring my livestock and all corals in one day to the new setup and BAM, I'm done. Now I have to set up a temporary tank until my new tank arrives.
So, as the title states, should I buy a stock tank? Or a kiddie pool? Either way I will partition off an area to at least have my skimmer running. I plan to just pile and stack my rocks/corals however I can get them to fit(within reason), toss a few powerheads and a heater in and call it good. I run no mechanical filtration in my sump other than my skimmer anyways.
Pros or cons to either one?
Will this simple/crude setup suffice for 6-8wks?
