stocking 125 gallon tank

How does this stocking list look. I really want small schools/shoals of fish so here's the list.
125 gallon, dims: 72"x18"x23"
40 gallon sump
around 200lbs of LR
40lbs of LS
I have:
1x Blue tang(I know he will outgrow it but he is still small and I will either upgrade or sell when he gets too big)
1x Tomini tang
1x Maroon clown(he is a model citizen so far)
1x Six-line Wrasse(he is also a model citizen so far)
Looking to add:
5or9x threadfin cardinals(I really want a small shoal and heard these are the best for that)
1x royal gramma
2x fairy or flasher wrasse (looking at whip fin fairy wrasse or carpenter flasher wrasse, mated pair)
2x fathead anthias (mated pair)
3or5x dispar anthias
 
I'd go ahead and trade the blue tang for a yellow and nix the 6 line. It'll be hard to get that fish out later with all of that LR.

Everything else seems fine except the 7 dartfish. Though they'd fit, I'd cut them back to about 4.

Just my thoughts...
 
First off thanks for the info, truly appreciated, but the six-line and blue tang and maroon clown and tomini tang are all in there and have been for almost a year. the six-line is really a model citizen. He never bothers anyone. The list of what I'm looking to add change. I'm really looking for small shoals of fish that are active. If anyone knows of any good fish for this, don't hesitate to say. Thanks.
 
Hopefully you'll get lucky with the six-line...

If you are into shoaling, you are on the right track with cardinals, anthias, and dartfish. Just be aware that the dartfish will hang together, but don't move much. They just kind of sit there, and shoot for the rock at the slightest movement. I don't care for them much because they tend to startle all fish in the tank when they are spooked (which is regularly).

The anthias will provide plenty of open tank movement for you...

Hahaha trust me my tank is nothing to drool over. Maybe once I get the small shoals in there it will be but that won't be for awhile since I'm battling some cyano right now. It's a pretty young tank, setup for almost a year so my frags haven't really grown in haha. I will post a pic once I feel its drool worthy.
 
Also do you know of any other active shoaling fish? maybe just another group of anthias?(instead of zebra dartfish or threadfin cardinals)
 
No worries on the new tank pics.

I think you are right on board with the shoaling fish. Stay away from chromis. They pick eachother off.

I think once you add what is posted above, you will be happy with your tank...
 
Okay well the list is changing. I sold my maroon clown and then my blue tang got ich so I figured I better get the 3 remaining fish out now and treat them before adding more fish. Well the Tomini and Blue Tang died. So I have a sixline wrasse and occ clown in qt right now. My tank is fishless and will be for about 9 weeks, for the ich to die. So anyone have suggestions on peaceful fish that are reef safe and really colorful and active haha?
 
I should have worded that question a little different. I appreciate your input but I'am looking for people who have experience with a specific type of wrasse,anthia,etc and can tell me the pros/cons of the fish they recommend. My fault for not asking correctly for what i'm looking for.
 
Anthias all the way! All you have to do is set up a feeder and you're good. They swim so much and it really fills out the tank.

Food is the big issue with them so I just took a bucket, drilled it, siliconed some PVC to let all the food fall onto the return and set up a timer to pump in water every hour and a half to feed them. It cost me about $80 and was well worth it for the health of my fish.
 
Sounds like a cool device. Do you have like a thread that further explains it or could you PM me some directions to build one? Also what Anthias do you have and how do they interact with each other?
 
I do not have a thread but I can easily explain it to you and I have pictures.

First of I have 2 yellow anthias and 6 lynthail anthias. I plan on getting much more now that I have the feeding down.

I first took a coral pro bucket and drilled it as high up as I could to hold the most volume of water. Then I siliconed a wide PVC pipe to the side of it and added a 90 degree elbow to make it fall down directly on to the return so that it would shoot directly into the tank. I have a small fountain pump that is turned off and on by a timer that I bought from the Internet. It's meant for watering plants and turning pumps on and off on a cycle instead of a specific time. I just changed it so that it is on 10 seconds and off 20 minutes so I can feed 3 times every hour! The timer only runs when the lights are on. I put 3 blocks of small frozen plankton, some cyclops and arctic pods in the bucket every morning and it is pushed around my a small circulation fan to keep it from settling at the bottom. Anthias don't eat big portions and the size of the food they desire is very small. Just about the size of live baby brine. Anyways at the end of the day I empty the bucket every night to make sure there is no food left over and repeat the process every day.

With a Sixline, it would be tough to suggest additional Wrasses unfortunately. I would suggest that unless that is the only Wrasse you want in the tank, you should consider re-homing it.
 
Honestly I've never had any aggression issues with my six-line. I've had him for almost 2 years and he just does his own thing and minds his own business, That being said if everyone really thinks I should re-home him because he will become a menace I guess the answer is pretty clear.

Like I said, if you are interested in other Wrasses, now would be the time. Just do a search for "Catching Sixline" and see what you find ;)
