stocking a 125 reef

(first post here, been lurking close to a year)

I already have a 29 reed (about a year old) and recently got a used 125. I'm working on building the sump, etc. but in the meantime am trying to come up with a plan for the livestock. Fish particularily.

I know what I want 2 or more tangs. Probably (1) Powder Blue and not sure on the other. What other species of larger fish would work in a mixed reef tank. Mostly softies, clams, LPS.

Particularily I'm wondering about how reefsafe larger angels are. Also how about Butterfly's or Foxface?

I have looked on LiveAquaria and they say "with caution" for so many species I'm just curious about personal experiences with said fish.

Thanks!

I'd say away from the angels, they aren't generally reef safe, though you may get lucky.

I'd recommend a six line wrasse, just because I love 'em. They seem to get along with everyone, and though they don't get "large" they are quite pretty.

Have you thought about a small school of blue chromis, like 5 or 7 of 'em? They are quite pretty.

I also like royal grammas, but that's a personal opinion.

P.S. Are you gonna have an anemone and try to host clowns in it? That's always fun, and with a 125 gallon, you can get the semi-aggresive maroon clowns.

I'm literally hate sixlines... Mine killed 2 skunk cleaner shrimps, 1 royal gramma, beat up my clownfish (badly) and mandarin.
