Stocking addition advice to clowntank

I have a new IM Micro 30 AIO tank that is cycling. I plan to move my pair of o clowns & hifin goby/pistol shrimp into it and am thinking of either ore or two more fish.

My clowns stay up top, goby @ the bottom so I'm thinking something mid tank that stays out vs hiding. would like something that is blue, red, purple as i have orange & yellow already. I would also like it to be something that stays out & in the middle. Must be reef safe, non aggressive to my clowns or goby/shrimp. I already have a royal gramma in another tank so i don't want another one.

Does anyone have an opinion on a green mandarin dragonet or a blue sapphire damsel? Would they fit in my tank and be happy with everyone else?

Thanks for all input

from everything I have seen a green mandarin in a tank that isnt very well established is a death sentence. No first hand experience though.

I wouldn't worry about an addition being aggressive to your clowns, it's the other way around. Your clowns are the bullies, most are. What santanzchild said is true also, unless you have a well established tank that produces pods, I wouldn't get a mandarin. A good choice would be a six line wrasse IMO. Six lines are reef safe, they won't mess with others or your inverts. They are also very beneficial at controlling some pests.

Never thought about it being new since i'm moving everything over from another tank, great point. I will have to seed this one with phyto, copepods & rotifies!

I didn't know this about clowns as they have never bothered my hifin goby, but then the goby got there first & he stays way down by his hole on guard! Now the fact that they are only 8 months old make any difference and will be moving into a new home?

I will check out the 6 line wrasse, thanks for the tip! Will amy wrasse be good or only the 6 line?

Is that a no on the damsel as well?

Keep the ideas coming, thx!
