Stocking ideas..

As of now, in my 47 gallon cube, I have about 50-60 pounds of live rock, and 50 pounds of sand. I have 4 red leg hermits, a small snail that I don't know the name of, and a huge turbo snail, and I also have one little chromis that was labeled wrong at the store so I don't know what it is. He's only about an inch and a half long and he has a light grey body with long, wispy yellow tails. I already know I want a bubble tip anemone and a pair of clowns. I want to get a few emerald crabs if they won't harm my anemone, and also a really pretty "centerpiece" fish to tie it up. I wanted a green mandarin more than anything and I already have a refugium to grow my own pods, but I feel like that will be more work than I'll be able to do when I start school. If anyone has any suggestions on what that centerpiece fish could be, let me know!

Mandarin and anemone need an established tank. I may be speaking out of turn but how old is the setup? There are lots of options, blennies, hawks, goby, small reef safe wrasse. Decent size tank you have some options.

The tank is very young, so I wasn't planning on adding anything that needs a super established tank for a long time. I was gonna wait till I got out of hair school till I started getting really reefy, and that'll be 2018!!! And no, you're fine, any info I can give you helps you give more info to me! :lolspin: I love a few types of wrasses, but unfortunately I'm afraid to get them because there jumpers. My tank is rimless and doesn't have any sort of lid on it... I actually just gotta pair of true percula clowns today. I don't think they're actually "paired" yet because they're only little guys (less than an inch long) plus they were in a tank with about 30 others. I've already drip-acclimated them and have them in a QT. I'm scared that my chromis is gonna be a bully like he was to a few crabs I put in there, so we'll see how that goes. Hes bigger than the clowns I got, and he's already got the run of the place, so... I love royal grammas so much but when the last one I had in an old tank died, it made me soooo sad. I'd like smaller fish so I can have a few more of them, so that's probably what I'll end up getting. Cardinals are my boyfriend's fave so I may get a pair of those.

So if it's young hold off on the anemone or mandarin. Careful on loading it with fish but glad you quarantining. Check out the tank transfer method in the new to the hobby forum. Unfortunately all fish are jumpers, I would suggest a netting of 1/4" to put your mind at ease. Bulk reef supply sells a cheap diy kit. The clowns will hold their own against the chromis no need to worry there.
