Stocking my 125

I have never kept corals before and i want to start stocking my 125 thats been running for about 2 months now.

I was hoping for some suggestions on easy LPS corals to start with so i can get my feet wet a little.

I have a 125 with dual overflows, 55 gallon sump, MTC 250 skimmer, ~1800 gph flow, and for lights 3x150 watt 10k halides, 4 x 96w PC atinics.

the tank has had a stable salinity and PH but the PH is a little low (7.8-.9). I have added calcium/alk buffer last week and now have the lights running on a steady schedule so im hoping this will raise the PH a bit more. im going to do another test when i go home to see if the tank is ready to accept corals.

but back to my question.... what are some good starter LPSs?

While you are working on the ph make sure to check your Alk, Calcium and Magnesium.

I actually cycled my LPS tank for 5 months before I started adding coral and another month for fish. I got a nice healthy pod population by waiting. Of course the only way I survived that long wait was because it was my second tank, so I had another one to play with while waiting!

As far as starters go I would recommend candy canes and a frogspawn. Both are pretty hardy and with good conditions you should see growth in the candy canes fairly quickly. Frogspawns are just so cool!

i am absolutley in love with frogspawn!! i already have fish in my tank... 2 black oscellaris clowns, and about 5 damsels. i have a clean up crew en-route which will probably be added this weekend.

ive been trying to search around, but the search engine doesnt seem to want to work for me.
