Stocking suggestions

I have recently moved up to a 37 gallon tank from a 20 which consisted of Live Rock some Mushrooms and polyps with 2 clowns a watchman goby and pistols shrimp randalls. Was wondering how many more fish could be added and what are some good additions I like the hawk fish but some suggestion would help me greatly Thanks PEZ

in my 75g I have a trio of firefish and a flasher wrasse in my tank with my clowns and YWG. all get along well and seem happy. any flasher wrasse would be okay in your tank, some fairy wrasses, yellow coris wrasses, as well as all small gobies.

a smaller species of hawkfish might work too. Falco hawks are small and pose little risk to shrimps/ inverts, though geometric pygmy hawks (really a species of anthias) pose NO risk to shrimp and look just like a tiny hawkfish; they also stay small (2" max size) and are far more peaceful then true hawkfish.

IMHO a 37g tank is too small for most flasher and fairy wrasses. Geometric pygmies, though they are anthias can be aggressive towards inverts. a falco hawk may eat shrimp (though not pistols unless he catches them molting), there are no guarantees with hawks.

You could try a fridimani dottyback, hemicyanea damsel, red or purple firefish, a longnose or flame hawk if there are no cleaner shrimp. 6 line wrasses do well in a tank that size, but they can get aggressive as they get bigger.

I am definetly looking for a peaceful tank I dont want any assaults going on, the only shrimp is the pistol but I wouldnt mind a cleanr shrimp of some type but that would eliminate any of the hawk fish which I do like. What do u think that Max fish load would be. I guess it depends on size of fish but a rough estimate would be ok.. pez

I agree with Monkeyfish. If you are adding in addition to your current stocking, one small fish would be good. A firefish would be excellent IF you have a top.

It is actually a cube tank 24 by 18 by 20 I think I am not sure if that makes a difference on stocking or not
