Stray voltage Question

If I have some stray voltage running in my tank and I know I do, will it affect my corals, several have started to loose the flesh from the bottom up, completely cleaned one of my table frags that two days ago looked fine

Find out which appliance is causing the problem and get rid of it.

Grab some grounding probes too, they're dirt cheap and its a sin not to own some.

Will a grounding probe in sump eliminate stray current from main tank?

Ok I'm offically opening the can of worms

A grounding probe ANYWHERE won't eliminate stray current, it'll simply give it a place to go that's probably more favorable than something like you, That being said in the sump should work to a certain extent.

One thing you might do is buy one of those cheap plug testers (ones that say if there's a ground, or hot & neutral are reversed<--- important one) man times hot & neutral get reversed via some reason you put the plug in wrong, or poorly created surge strip flipped them, but that can easily allow current to get into the tank.
