Struggling Brown Button Polyps

I have a rock with tons of brown button polyps that I've had for about three months. After the initial acclimation to my tank, the polyps looked great. Open, healthy, even growing and becoming a very pretty green color in the center of the larger polps. At this time they were positioned in the middle, buttom of my tank.

About two months ago, they started closing up. I didn't give it much attention initially, hoping they would open up on their own.

Eventually, during a water change I moved them higher in the aquarium, hoping more light would help. Well, they did open a bit. But they're still not nearly as open as they were. They used to cover the whole rock and every polyp was open. Not so much now. They've been in this state for a few weeks.

My green mushrooms, cabbage corals, fish, aiptasia (haha) and hermits/snails are all doing great. 0 ammonia, nitrites, and <5 nitrates. I do water changes about every 10 days, using Reef Crystals and RO water. Tank is a 29 gallon, Nova Extreme saltwater fixture. I have added clownfish and the cabbage coral in the time that the polyps were closed, but they were closed before the additions. Otherwise, nothing but filter (Rena xP2) media has changed during this time.

No idea why the polyps would be thriving and then just"¦ not. Any ideas?
