Stuck in Overflow...

I finally got my "dream fish" of a "small" Zebra Eel... And I thought I had everything secured, but the eel was smaller than I thought it would be and now seems to be content living in the overflow for now. :headwalls: It went in the tank Tuesday night, and jumped over between 3pm and 7pm today, so it hasn't been in there long. What would be the best way to get him out without having to reach in and get him? :headwallblue: I have pictures uploading now.

Try a silverside to get him out and put a long pvc pipe in the tank to make him happy :) This happened to a friend of mine, we tried this and it worked well with a snowflake eel.
good luck

I'm not sure a silverside would work with a zebra, but if it doesn't I'm sure shrimp or squid would work.

Just an idea - you could try shining a light up from the bottom of the tank to see if you could disturb him enough to make him want to leave (assuming water in your overflow is high enough that he can find his way out). Might work better with the tank lights off. Good luck.
