Stuck on the Nitrite spike

My tank (29 gal biocube) has been in the cycling process for about a month now. I am able to raise my ammonia to 2.0ppm and it drops to 0ppm in 24 hours. My problem is that the nitrites aren't dropping. They have been constant at 3.0-4.0ppm for about a week. I'm wondering if I should do a water change or just wait for more bacteria to build up? Thanks for your help!

Just wait! Also if you are still adding ammonia, stop, you should only add ammonia one time and then simply allow nature to take over. If you continue to add ammonia you prolong the cycle and end up with higher than necessary nitrates at the end of the cycle. The bacteria that convert ammonia to nitrites and nitrites to nitrates can go a year or more without food so there is no need to continue adding an ammonia source.

Mine stayed that way for a long time. I thought it was stalled. Then one day, they started to drop, and dropped fast.

What's your nitrates? Nitrite tests are notoriously inaccurate if nitrate is high.
