Stupid Person With Question About Coral Growth

I'm going to be focusing on SPS coral. I have seen some of the extreme growth of some of the SPS corals here on RC. What I don't know is what happens when a coral gets too big?

I am interested in keeping some montipora and knwo it can reach tremendous sizes and have fast growth rates. What do you do with montipora and acropora when it gets too big?

How do you frag montipora?

not sure as i have never fragged anything. but the pieces that i got were 'fragged' by breaking a piece off with your hands.

hand breaking of monti caps work best, very easy and dont even have to remove the colony to frag. some acros will break pretty easy but thicker branchers will have to be removed and clipped with bone cutters or even a band saw, tile saw, or dreml depending on the species
