Stupid question from a noob

Okay, dumb question. Do rics "get up and walk around"? I have a couple of rics that seem to be sliding off their pieces of LR rubble. Are they doing this themselves, or is something else going on? Maybe being nudged around by the water flow?

...and if so, does this indicate that I have them placed badly and they're trying to find a better place to live?

Yes they can move themselves its one way they propagate. If they are moving around leave them be because they will eventually find where they want to stay.

they don't "walk around" like anemones, but they are capable of limited movement, especially if gravity is working in their favor.

There's no "stupid questions" on RC. You can feel free to ask anything about reef keeping. Rics will walk a bit especially yumas when they propogate. Floridas will walk onto a larger rock if the rock under its bottom is too small.
