Stupidity lesson for tonight...

When scraping the algae in a mantis tank for the first time, don't be concerned so much by the mantis darting out of his cave and mangling your thumb...but instead be more concerned with your own stupidity and the damage you can do to yourself with a metal scraper. Based on my genius move tonight, if I were a mantis shrimp, I think the nickname "thumb-splitter" would be very fitting...

What was that thread I read earlier about us being smarter and more evolved than animals? :)

I have been sporting neosporin and a bandaid since Monday myself. Trying to move a 55 by yourself is not to smart. I was dropping it, naturally ;), and the black center brace peeled my thumb open. Then I decided to try a dolly and cracked 2 big chipps out of the end...:rolleye1: I never learn! Hope your wound heals right up, the neosporin seems to have helped mine but I totally lost about a 1" square of flesh so I had to keep it moist with ointment and clean. Try to keep it out of the tank, you never know what germs are lurking in there!

It's a great white in training! HA! No, it's a little ole' sand shark that I caught fishing with Brian and his Dad up in Jersey this past summer... A real monster if you can't tell.
