Hi all...I've noticed there is a distinct lack of happy stories on this forum, so I thought I would post about my newest fish. A few weeks ago my LFS got a shipment of filamented flashers that had some nice colors, but they were all sick. Eventually they sold me one for 15bucks; the fish showed larger patches of discoloration, red spots, and would either swim jerkily or sit in the corner on its side. I first treated with maracyn and maroxy, which didn't seem to do much. Then I tried nitrofurazone, and there was immediate improvement...This is about two weeks later, and the fish swims around actively and eats like a pig. I have to say, I'm pretty excited. So that's my success story, and now for the question. I was wondering how long I should leave the fish in the qt before introducing it into the dt. I would assume that bacteria have a fast life cycle, and thus possibly it would be ok to introduce him sooner, but I don't want to take any unnecessary risks...Anyone out there with some experience on bacterial infections and related qt practices? Thanks!
