Succumbing to temptation...

Before I go any further, I have a 210 gallon reef, sps, a few leathers, loads of shrooms and rics, 5 bubble tip anemones, and, few miscellaneous other corals. 150 gallon sump, 75 gallon fuge, and 40 gallon frag tank. Fish-wise, I have:

Yellow Tang (medium to large)
Blue Hippo Tang (medium)
bicolor dwarf angel (medium to large)
flame angel (small to medium)
1/2 black dwarf angel (medium)
lemon peel dwarf (small to medium)
Banghai cardinal (small)
Comet (medium to large)
Mystery wrasse (small to medium)
Gold stripe maroon clown (medium)
Royal gramma (small)
Blue stripe goby (small)
(2) misbar perculas (very small)
Spotted mandarin (small)

So, I walked into the local fish store... Greeting me were multiple enticing fish. I succumbed to temptation.

I added:
Powder blue Tang (small to medium) - Bali - $65
Regal Angel (small to medium) - Bali - $45
Maroon clown (medium to large) - $15

I figured that if I added the three at once, I would disperse the inevitable aggression. Here is what I learned:

1. My gold stripe maroon clown is an SOB and must completely attack and destroy the new maroon clown if he goes anywhere near one of his five claimed anemones.

2. The powder blue tang swims near the other two other tangs, and, they mostly leave him alone, other than for the very rare chase scene. My two surgeons apparently do not hate their new friend.

3. Th regal tang, much like the afterfore read literature indicates, is a sensitive "hider". I know that he is in there, but, I only ever get a passing glance of his head from between the rockwork with the other boisterous rowdies swimming around.

* * * * * Upon return from parent/teacher conferences, the new maroon was hard and dry on the floor - thank you gold stripe * * * * *

I hate wasting my financial resources, and, more importantly, the ocean's natural resources. What do you think, and, what should I expect next?

I am probably about done, but, to my defense, many of the fish are tiny. When the few larger fish are in the back, the tank almost looks empty. Famous last words...

the problem you ran into with the maroon is that you bought another medium to large, when pairing clowns after having a clown alone in your system (now female) you must buy a juvenile clown which has yet to become male or female... if you attempt it again I would advise to buy the smallest clown you can find, preferably from the same source, catch the original clown and set him in new environment, add the juvenile clown in this tank and monitor closely, two adults will never make it IMO
